Creativity Uncovered: Strategies for Your Inner Genius

Creativity is the ability to create new and valuable things. It is also a way to promote originality and alternative thinking. Because it encompasses a wide range of domains and activities, it is present in every aspect of our lives.

You can find it in artistic creations, scientific inventions, futuristic concepts, and unique ideas. If there were no creativity, perhaps everything would be the same and repetitive for us on this planet. Therefore, where there is creation, there is creativity.

Does everyone have creativity?

Yes, everyone has it to some degree. It means we all have the potential to be creative. But only some of us use this potential extensively, while most individuals don’t. Many people in our society also have no idea about the hidden creative spark within them.

How to nourish your creativity.

Creativity always begins with imagination. British author Ken Robinson says, “Creativity involves putting your imagination to work. In a sense, it is applied imagination.” So, if you can imagine, you can create anything. But to create something new and valuable, you need to nourish your inner creativity. Here are some tips to help you to foster your inner creative genius.

1. Know yourself

When you know yourself well, you know your interests, strengths, and weaknesses. This gives you an idea of the nature of the creative spark hidden within you and in which field it can take you forward. For example, if you are interested in music, you will find that your creativity will help you do better in music than in other domains. And the best way to know yourself is to spend time with yourself. Meditation and Yoga can help you in this a lot.

2. Observe nature

Nature is the source of all creativity. It’s because the process of creation and destruction continuously happens in nature. Every knowledge that we have is due to the nature around us. Be it a poet or a scientist, everyone has created new creations by taking inspiration from nature. For example, Japan’s bullet train is inspired by the kingfisher bird. Therefore, you should spend some time in solitude among animals, birds, and plants. It will help you a lot in boosting your creativity.

3. Seek inspiration

Creativity is like a flame, and imagination is its fuel. But it is not easy to intensify the light of that flame just with your own imagination. Therefore, you have to take inspiration from many other people and things. Reading books, watching movies, and observing the works of others will help you in nurturing your creativity. For example, if you want to write a book, reading books by many great authors will fuel your creativity.

4.Challange your comfortzone

For a child, his mother’s lap is his comfort zone. But as he grows up, he learns to move away from his comfort zone to explore the world. In the same way, you have to expand the scope of your creative mind by going out of your comfort zone and accepting challenges. You have to take risks and gain new experiences. It’s because the discomfort of the unknown can trigger the creative genius within you. For example, actors who try different acting genres out of their comfort zone excel in their careers.

5. Collaborate and brainstorm

It is said that knowledge increases by sharing. If you discuss creative things with your friends and loved ones, you will boost your creativity. You will get to know each other’s thinking. As a result, it will help you create new things. For example, children participate in painting competitions at schools. Through this, they become familiar with each other’s creative abilities. As a result, it enhances the creative spark within them.

6. Accept failures

Failure in creative works is nothing new. Therefore, you should not be afraid of failing while doing creative work. Failure is the ladder on which success can be achieved. If you want to create something new and valuable, you have to accept failure with patience. In the words of Confucius, “Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail.”

Bottom Line

In the end, I would say that you cannot learn creativity, but you can improve it. This is because God has blessed all living beings with creativity. As a writer and a creative person, I have shared my experience here. These are just some of the ways through which you can unleash your creative talents. I hope you enjoyed reading this. Thank you!

You’ve probably been on a seesaw or a teeter-totter at some time in your life – you on one side and a friend on the other.
